Refined, chic, three-dimensional sculpture of Flamenco Dancers, made of magnificent white glazed porcelain.

The underglaze hallmark Hutschenreuthe Germany on the bottom of the work was used from 1955 to 1968.
Very beautiful, bright work. Hand painted underglaze.
The sculptor captured the amazing Flamenco dance performed by the brilliant Moira Shaerer in the famous cult British feature film set in the world of ballet in 1948, "The Red Shoes", rightfully considered one of the best films in the UK!
Inside the film, as a story within a story, a modernist ballet based on the plot of Andersen's fairy tale "The Red Shoes" is shown. It was this ribbon that inspired the sculptor Carl Werner to create this magnificent sculpture!
